Saint Francis hospital ligger i landsbyen Katete i den østlige povinsen i Zambia. Sykehuset har ca 360 sengeplasser og yter helsetjenester til en
befolkning på 1,5 millioner. Pasientene mottar gratis
helsehjelp. Vi skal jobbe som frivillige ved St. Francis fra september til desember 2010 som medisinstudenter med midlertidig lisens.

So nice to read your stories. Although you speak of the many difficulties you meet with patients coming so late (as for the patient with a full bladder or the woman in labour or the multiple deaths in Mbusa, it makes us a bit jealous as part of our heart is in Katete. When I see the picture of your bath room before and after I can understand that you found it rather necceser to whitewash the wall. Did Ian mention that you look like your auntie? He made a joke but in 2001 he let us move into another house as soon as the former house was spic and span cleaned by Arlet herself. Pass our greetings to all friends, especially Setrida van Bruggen, the Parkinsons but also to Elke Radcliff from Tikondane, to dr. Simon Chisi (oogarts) and dr Ziche Makukula (gyn), Joop Jansen, to the technicien Hillam Kalumbi living close to the mess and all the servants in the mess. The cystoscope Arne used was paid and sent by the MSG only last December. So long!
